Pakistan beat Australia in 1st T20 clashFormer Twenty20 world champions Pakistan have registered a 23-run win over Australia at Edgbaston. By this victory, Pakistan has managed to snap a 12-match losing streak against Australia. Last time both the team met each other at the World Twenty 20 semi-final in the West Indies in the month of May.

In that match, Australia has dumped Pakistan in a dramatic manner. But this time Shahid Afridi’s men finished off the job in style. Batting first, Pakistan has scored 167 with the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs.

Youngster Umar Akmal has played a brilliant knock to score 64 runs off 31 balls with seven fours and three sixes. This was his highest Twenty20 international score. Australia pace bowler Shaun Tait was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets from his four overs wasting 25 runs.

In the second innings, Australia was bowled out in18.4 overs scoring 144 runs.  David Warner has scored a blistering 41 off 31 balls but rest of the Aussies batsmen were failed to score quickly. Saeed Ajmal picked up three wickets.
