PCKL Registers Profit Of Rs 32.69 Crore
The State-owned Plantation Corporation of Kerala Limited (PCKL) has registered a record Rs 32.69 crore profit during the fiscal 2009-10 as compared to Rs 20.78 crore recorded during the previous year.
While talking to media persons, PCKL Chairman T J Anjalose stated that the corporation, with a record 103% growth, paid a Rs 15.27 crore dividend to the State administration in the fiscal ended March 2010.
Mr. Anjalose said that the company planned to issue another dividend cheque during the current financial year.
On growth plan, Mr. Anjalose said the PCKL also decided to build office building, research centre and commercial complex at West Hill in the district.
State Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran would laid the foundation stone for the Rs 6 crore project during a function to be presided over by Kozhikode Mayor M Bhaskaran on June 22.
A sophisticated centrifusion factory set up by the corporation at Koduman Estate in Pathanamthitta would be opened in Augus this year, he said, adding hundreds of job opportunities were created since the present board of the corporation assumed office. (With Inputs from Agencies)
