Government should initiate in giving LoP to Congress, says Digvijay

digvijay-singhGuna (Madhya Pradesh), July 7 : Reacting to the issue of Leader of Opposition (LoP), Congress leader Digvijay Singh said here on Monday that the Congress should definitely get the position of LoP and the government should take the initiative on this.

He also criticised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for purposely wanting the LoP position to remain vacant.

"BJP and Prime Minster Narendra Modi want LoP position vacant so that they can form Lokpal with their own choice," said Singh.

Digvijay-SinghHyderabad, May 1 : Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Thursday said that he does not hide his relationship like Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi who had been hiding the truth about his marriage and added that the latter is a coward.

"I don't hide my relationship, which Mr. Modi does. I am not a coward. My relationship is a private matter that I have made public," said Singh.

"Modi is a coward as he has hidden his wife for years, but I have the courage and conviction to face the consequences for what I have said and done," he added.

digvijay-singhNew Delhi/Hyderabad, Oct 29 : Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh Tuesday asked people of both Telangana and Seemandhra to submit their suggestions to the Group of Ministers (GoM) on bifurcation by Nov 5.

Talking to reporters in the national capital, he said people of both the regions should submit their concrete suggestions to the GoM so that they can be included in the relevant draft bill.

He told reporters in New Delhi that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) took a decision after consultations with all and after near-unanimity among all political parties.

Digvijaya Singh is also in charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh.

Digvijaya Singh, who was recently appointed the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of the party's affairs in Goa, was speaking to reporters after addressing a meeting of key party officials during his first visit to the state.
