CBI to probe iron ore mined illegally in KarnatakaThe Supreme Court of India has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to scrutinize the alleged illegal exports of more than 50 lakh tonnes of iron ore from the Bellikere port in Karnataka.

The four major exporters who were allegedly involved in the illegal export for the iron ore are: ILC Industries Ltd, SB Logistics, Dream Logistics Co., and Shree Mallikarjun Shipping Pvt. Ltd.

CBI to file charge-sheet against Gali Janardhan ReddyThe CBI is preparing to file its first charge-sheet against former Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy for illegal mining as well as export of iron ore.

CBI joint director V. V. Lakshminarayana said, "We will file the charge-sheet in the CBI special court in Nampally very soon on the export of iron ore from the Obulapuram Mining Company belonging to Janardhan Reddy to other countries."
