London, Jan 23: Exactly a year after his tragic death, late actor Heath Ledger has been nominated for an Academy Award for his role in `The Dark Knight'.
The `Brokeback Mountain' star died due to a prescription-drug overdose at his New York apartment on 22 January (08), shortly after completing filming of the Batman blockbuster, reports the Daily Express.
And exactly a year after the tragedy (22Jan09), the actor star has been granted a posthumous nod from the Academy Awards board.
Washington, Jan 20 : Late Aussie actor Heath Ledger was able to view six minutes of his acclaimed `The Dark Knight' performance before he passed away, it has emerged.
Ledger had been shown the clip by producer Charles Roven, while he was working in London for a screening of an edit director Christopher Nolan had cut for IMAX screens.
"I showed Heath the first six minutes... the bank heist sequence, on an IMAX screen in London," Contactmusic quoted Roven as telling Entertainment Weekly magazine.
