Former UK PM Thatcher admitted to hospital for tests

London, Mar. 8: Former British Prime Minister Baroness Margaret ThatcherFormer British Prime Minister Baroness Margaret Thatcher has been taken to hospital for precautionary medical tests.

The 82-year-old has been admitted to St Thomas' Hospital in central London for medical tests, reports The Telegraph.

Lady Thatcher has suffered earlier bouts of ill health and spent a night in hospital in 2005 after she complained of feeling faint during an appointment with a hairdresser.

Baroness Thatcher was conferred with the Morgan Stanley Great Britons Lifetime Achievement Award at the Guildhall in London.

"I am proud to have played my part in helping to transform the British economy and in restoring Great Britain's standing on the world stage,” the Telegraph quoted Thatcher, as saying.

“I am delighted to have been honoured with such a prestigious award," she added.
