New Delhi, Oct 1 : National Conference (NC) president Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that situation in Jammu and Kashmir is not conducive for holding assembly elections.
"The situation is not conducive for polls,” a news agency quoted Abdullah as saying and added that there was a deep polarisation of voters in Jammu and the feeling of alienation was very strong in the valley.
The NC has already conveyed to the Election Commission that for holding polls the ground situation must be conducive and the atmosphere must be peaceful to ensure all sections of people take part in the polls.
