Washington, Dec 12 : American actor Tom Cruise’s life before he became Hollywood''s top-earning actor, involved him trying for fame in the field of wrestling.

Cruise, who was just a teenager then, would take part in violent wrestling matches.

A photo, obtained by U. S. magazine People, showed the young Cruise posing after a match.

From the looks of the picture, the Top Gun star had just been through a very intense match at a freestyle-wrestling tournament at New Jersey''s Glen Ridge High School, where he graduated in 1980.

New York, December 10 : Tom Cruise handed out marriage advice to singer Heidi Montag's hubby Spencer Pratt in an interview on ''The Hills After Show.''

Montag had eloped with Pratt and gotten married on November 20, but the marriage is yet to be legal, since the two had failed to obtain the requisite marriage license before their ceremony in Mexico.

Cruise, who married Katie Holmes in 2006 after proposing to her at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, said that Pratt may have made a blunder by not letting his wife have her dream wedding.

Washington, Dec 9 : American actor Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes were seen shopping for gifts for needy children on the actress’ day off from the theatre.

They were spotted entering New York City''s famed toy store FAO Schwarz after it closed on December 7, reports People magazine.

The couple are expected to buy carts full of dolls, toys, books, and games to donate to Stockings with Care, a non-profit organization founded in 1992 that gives gifts to needy kids.

Washington, Dec 5 : Tom Cruise has revealed that when he first met Katie Holmes he immediately fell for her.

"I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her," Usmagazine. com quoted him, as saying in the Dec. 7 issue of T: The New York Times Style Magazine.

The actor also revealed that he bought Holmes an engagement ring shortly after their first date in 2005.

"At one point, I thought she was going to ask me to marry her first and I put her off by changing the subject. I wanted to ask her," Cruise said.
