Pornhub offers student scholarship

Pornhub.com, one of the world's most popular pornography sites, has offered a new $US25, 000 college scholarship, formally known as the Pornhub Cares Scholarship. All the applicants, who want the scholarship, need to write a 1000-1500 word essay answering the question, 'How do you strive to make others happy?'

Besides this, students are also required to submit a two-to-five minute video, elaborating the good work they do, and anything else they want to say. This famous adult entertainment website has presently 78.9 billion reported online video views annually.

The financial offer has come under fire and has been criticized for being a potentially 'deceptive marketing tactic'.

While talking to the Washington Post, the executive director of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, Dawn Hawkins, said that the offer was 'an amazing and deceptive marketing tactic', targeting poor students.

Hawkins said that many youngsters don't realize the consequences and damages of pornography. He added, "These videos follow them the rest of their lives and affect their jobs and relationships in the future to have this out there. … It's really unfortunate we're forcing our kids to sell their bodies to get an education".

The campaign website of Pornhub.com has mentioned that the scholarship will be awarded to a student with a GPA of 3.2 or higher, and can be specializing in any major in college.
