Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is ready Friday morning to present the country's budget for the next financial with a renewed sense of hopefulness over India's development and clear indications from representatives to bring deficits back to controllable levels.

Hopes were also high from Mukherjee, who has announced four budgets earlier, that he will concentrate on the twin issue of cutting down prices while assuring higher overall development for the financial system.

At the same instant, Pranab is also under duress to roll back, albeit steadily, the $37-billion stimuli declared since December 2008 to aid the country weather the worldwide economic slump.

The budget will be announced in the Lok Sabha, after an immediate conference of the federal cabinet presided over by Dr. Manmohan Singh for a customary authorization of the plans.
