Prisoners point out TV options

Prisoners point out TV optionsThe immense growth in digital television viewing in the UK seems unstoppable.

It is believed that in the recent years the old terrestrial analogue will be replaced and instead, access to infinite digital channels will become normal, except in case of prisoners, reports stated.

According to a prisoner from HMP Whatton who through a letter comments that the current TV options available are BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky Sports News, ITV3, The Music Factory (TMF) and Film 4, a comfort in case of a "stereotypical" criminal.

On the flip side, Kevin Skaith, who also is a prisoner serving a three-year sentence for possessing 119,688 images of child porn, wishes to watch BBC4, Yesterday and the BBC Parliament channel, because he likes documentaries.

Meanwhile, prisoners who once were allowed to watch through their own STPs, are no longer allowed to use their Freeview set top boxes as it invites violation of several rules.
