Pyramid Saimira Theatre Limited, country’s leading multiplex operator, has informed that its members at extraordinary general meeting held on 14 March 2008, has approved the raising of additional funds through FCCB / GDR / ADR up to USD 400 million.

The members have approved to increase the borrowing powers from the present Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 3,000 crore.
Chennai-based, Pyramid Saimira operates as a theatre chain company in India. It operates a network of theatres, including malls, multiplexes, cine-plexes, and standalone theatres.

The members have also approved to increase powers to the board for mortgage, creation of charge or lien on the assets of the company up to Rs 2,500 crore from the present limit of Rs 1,200 crore.

Further, the members have approved the additional investment up to a sum not exceeding Rs 300 crore in group companies.

Recently, Pyramid Saimira Entertainment Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd has entered into a strategic partnership for content agglomeration / new channels / services launching with Spize TV, a Direct to Home Platform.
