The promos of forthcoming movie 'Raavan' have generated lots of interest in the flick, which is directed by Mani Ratnam.

The film 'Raavan', which stars Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and South star Vikram in lead roles, is a loose edition of Hindu epic Ramayana, with a twist.

The most interesting fact is that Abhi plays the role of 'Raavan' whereas Aishwarya plays Sita.

In a recent interview, Abhishek talked about how hard and challenging the character was for him.

The sources discovered that Abhishek considers this his most thought-provoking movie thus far.

Ratnam is known as a tough supervisor and likes to shoot on genuine locations. The film unit shot in the thick forests of Kerala, replete with snakes and leeches. They also did the daring stunts themselves. Abhishek jumped from a height of 90-feet into a frozen river. He also stood under a waterfall for hours to get a shot right.

The project was physically hard for the whole cast, as even Aishwarya did her own stunts. All three lead actors' had suffered many injuries and illnesses. It was a challenging movie even besides the physical tension.

Reportedly, Abhi worked really hard on his body language and phrasing to enter the skin of the character. Though Abhishek loved playing the character named Beera, it was his hardest role till date.
