Austria's incest case: Fritzl sentenced to life for murderSt Poelten, Austria - Josef Fritzl was found guilty Thursday of murder through neglect and sentenced to lifelong imprisonment, for the death of a baby he fathered with his daughter Elisabeth, in a windowless dungeon below his house.

The 73-year-old Austrian was also found guilty on all other counts of slavery, rape, incest and false imprisonment, charges he had confessed to Wednesday.

An eight-member jury unanimously reached the guilty verdict on the fourth day of the trial that was held in the town of St Poelten in the province of Lower Austria.

The prosecution and defence are due to give their closing addresses to the jury Thursday morning, after a surprise change in his plea by Fritzl on Wednesday. A verdict is expected by the end of the day.

Fritzl trial resumes in AustriaSt Poelten, Austria - Josef Fritzl appeared in court for a second day on Tuesday as the jury heard further testimony of how he imprisoned and raped his daughter over a period of 24 years, fathering seven children by her.

The court was due to hear taped evidence from Fritzl's daughter, Elisabeth, 42, describing her ordeal and the birth of her children in a windowless cellar beneath the family home.

The artists of the Vienna chamber applauded the performance of the Shillong choir.

"We are all enjoying it and it is a wonderful experience with the choir from Shillong. They are just amazing," said Oliver, an artist.
