Canada-based technology giant Research in Motion (RIM) has made RIM Rolls Out ‘Blackberry Bold’ To Take On Apple’s iPhoneannouncement about the launching of its new smartphone ‘Blackberry Bold’ in Austria with the intention to take on rival Apple’s iPhone 3G.

Targeting business segment, the newly launched 3G-enabled phone comes packed with a half-VGA LCD display with 480x320 resolution, full QWERTY keyboard, powerful 624 MHz processor and 1GB internal storage memory.

ViennaAustrian oil and gas group OMV - Austrian oil and gas group OMV reported an increase of more than 60 per cent in profits and operating earnings for the second quarter of 2008 on Wednesday, as rising oil prices offset the effects of a weak dollar.

Net profit after minority interests rose to 684 million euros (1.061 billion dollars) between April and June 2008, 66 per cent above the 411 million euros it made in the same period last year. Minorities accounted for 98 million euros.

OMV reported sales of 6.965 billion euros, up 52 per cent from the first quarter of 2007.

Strabag buys Cemex subsidiaries in Austria, Hungary

Vienna - The Mexican company Cemex, one of the world's largest cement makers, is selling its building materials subsidiaries in Austria and Hungary to Austria-based construction company Strabag, both companies announced Thursday.

Strabag, one of Europe's leading construction groups, will buy 100 per cent of Cemex' stone, gravel and concrete operations in these two countries for 310 million euros (485 million dollars), Cemex announced in a statement.

Pending approval by market supervisory authorities and Strabag's board, the revenue from the sale will be used to reduce Cemex' debt, the Mexican company said.
