Sonia Gandhi launches Congress poll campaign in Orissa Bhubaneswar, Apr 2 : Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday launched her party's poll campaign in the state.

The UPA chairperson, who is on a day-long visit to the state, criticized the Naveen Patnaik-led Orissa Government for taking credit for the schemes launched by the Central Government.

Dr. Singh on Tuesday said that India and Pakistan should jointly face the scourge of terrorism.

Addressing a news conference here, Advani termed the Central Government''s policy on terrorism was "deeply flawed".

Four killed in Orissa explosion

Orissa on the top in terms of Communal Violence in the countryBhubaneswar, Mar 29 : At least four people were killed and 13 others injured in an explosion at a house in Purushottampur, 50 km from Orissa''s Berhampur, early Sunday.

According to police official, the incident took place at around 2:00m a. m. when people were allegedly making bombs near the site of local ''danda dance'' festival.

Soon after the bomb under preparation went off accidentally, other finished bombs and explosives caught fire triggering a massive explosion, the sources added.

 Third Front not to project PM candidate ahead of Lok Sabha elections: BardhanBhubaneswar, Mar 13 : The Communist Party of India (CPI) on Friday said that the Third Front would not announce any candidate for Prime Minister's post before the Lok Sabha elections are held.

"The Third Front will not project anyone as its Prime Ministerial candidate during electioneering," said A. B. Bardhan, General Secretary of CPI.

Bardhan said the question of Prime Minister would be taken into consideration only after the elections.
