Skype slams T-Mobile ban in GermanyHamburg - Skype, the company which provides free phone services via the internet, slammed German wireless company T-Mobile on Saturday over its announced ban on skyping with the Apple iPhone.

The ban, put in place this month, has raised hackles in the technology media round the world.

Jean-Jacques Sahel, Skype's senior executive for regulation issues in Europe, said the ban had come as a surprise. He accused T-Mobile's parent, Deutsche Telekom, of suppressing competition.

Skype is a subsidiary of the US-based internet auction service eBay.

German federation expects no FIFA sanctions on Podolski

Lukas Podolski Hamburg  - The German football federation DFB believes FIFA will take no action against Lukas Podolski over a pitch altercation with captain Michael Ballack during Germany's 2-0 victory over Wales in a World Cup qualifier on Wednesday.

Podolski struck out a hand which made slight contact with Ballack's cheek during an angry exchange of words in a second-half incident.

A DFB spokesman said Friday it did not believe football's world governing body FIFA would punish the Bayern Munich striker for unsporting behaviour as the referee took no action at the time.

Wladimir Klitschko to defend titles against Haye

Wladimir Klitschko to defend titles against Haye Hamburg - Ukraine heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko is to fight Britain's David Haye on June 20, his management confirmed Thursday.

The bout will take place in Europe but a venue has yet to be established.

"The contracts are being signed today," Klitschko manager Bernd Boente of the Hamburg-based Klitschko Management Group said.

Several venues in Germany would like to stage the bout in which Klitschko will be defending his WBO and IBF titles against former cruiserweight champion Haye.

Podolski to escape sanctions after Ballack row Hamburg - Germany striker Lukas Podolski will face no sanctions after he appeared to slap captain Michael Ballack in an altercation during the 2-0 defeat of Wales in Cardiff on Wednesday, team manager Oliver Bierhoff said.

Bierhoff said in Cardiff early Thursday that the two players had cleared up their differences after the game and the matter was now closed.

"The important thing is that nothing has been left unresolved," he said.
