Bangalore, Nov 19 : BS Yedyurappa on Monday evening resigned from the post of Karnataka Chief Minister, hours after coalition partner J D (S) announced to vote against the government in the crucial confidence motion in the Vidhan Soudha.

Yedyurappa, who had taken the oath as the Chief Minister of the State a week ago, submitted his resignation letter to Governor Rameshwar Thakur even before taking the floor test.

After tendering his resignation, Yedyurappa said he was 'cheated' by the BJP leadership, not once but twice.

Bangalore, Nov 13: Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today asked Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa to prove his majority on the floor of the State Assembly by November 20.

Bangalore, Nov 9 : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader B S Yeddiyurappa, who will lead the coalition government in Karanataka with the Janata Dal-Secular, will meet Governor Rameshwar Thakur later today.

Thakur is expected to extend Yeddiyurappa a formal invitation to form the government.

Yeddiyurappa is expected to be sworn in as Chief Minister on Monday.

Meanwhile, the JD (S) has convened a meeting on Sunday, ahead of the government formation.

On the 12-point 'memorandum of understanding' that JD (S) chief Deve Gowda had sent to the BJP, JD (S) state unit president Merajuddin Patel said it s not a pre-condition and it is merely an understanding between the two partners for smooth governance.

New Delhi, Nov 6 : Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today met Home Minister Shivraj Patil and briefed him about the political situation in the State.
