Melbourne, Oct 22 : Irish rock band U2 has signed a billion-dollar deal with concert promoters Live Nation, which could earn them more than 500 million dollars in shared revenue.

The deal, which is for 12-years, entitles them to 1.56 million shares in the company worth around 10 million, and it would mean their frontman Bono will be 60-years-old before he finishes touring.

Along with handling the band’s tours, Live Nation will also handle merchandising, digital and branding rights and run their website and fan club.

The company first worked with The Joshua Tree hitmakers in Toronto in 1980, and have been organising their live events since 1997.

Melbourne, Oct 21: Men should stay miles away from mobile phones if they don''t want to screw up their plans of fathering a child, for a new research has shown that males who talk for hours on cellphones may damage their sperm.

An experiment on semen revealed evidence of DNA damage after 16 hours of exposure to radiation similar to the output of a mobile phone.

To reach the conclusion, researchers at the University of Newcastle built a device to irradiate sperm at the same radio frequency as mobile telephone calls.

Melbourne, Oct 20 : A new study has revealed that more than eight million Australians want a reduction in alcohol advertising, with half of them revealing that alcohol has had a negative impact on their family.

The study was conducted by Roy Morgan Research for the Salvation Army, which is calling on people to consider their drinking habits, and the impact they have on their families.

It was also revealed during the study, which was conducted amid a massive debate over closing pubs earlier to stop violence, that two million people have experienced physical arguments or threats as a result of alcohol consumption within their family.

Melbourne, October 20 : Australian fathers, on average, spend just about a minute a day caring for their kids alone, says a paper.

Social researcher Lyn Craig writes in the paper entitled ‘Father Care, Father Share in International Perspective’ that men spend an average of just shy of one hour each working week caring for their kids, and that about 90 per cent of the children’s care is done by their mothers.

The report further states that though fathers spend longer with their kids on weekends, they are mostly together as a family unit.

Melbourne, October 20 : Australian doctors have found out the reason why a 41-year-old woman had to spend four decades puzzled by a pungent body odour "resembling rotting fish" — an incurable genetic condition called trimethylaminuria.

Also known as fish malodour syndrome, this condition affects the smell of sweat, breath, and urine.

"The characteristic body odour resembling rotting fish can be intermittent, variable and influenced by diet, hormones and medications," News. com. qu quoted her doctors as saying in the Medical Journal of Australia.

Melbourne, Oct 20 : A teenage hacker, belonging to underground group ‘Anonymous’, has confessed to have hacked Church of Scientology websites, say justice officials.

According to the Justice Department, Dmitriy Guzner, 18, of New Jersey will plead guilty to computer hacking, reports News. com. au.

He was accused of allegedly launching a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack against Scientology websites in January this year.

In DDOS attacks, websites are inundated with a large volume of malicious internet traffic, which make the sites inaccessible to legitimate users.

The information filed in federal court in Los Angeles revealed that Guzner described himself as a member of "Anonymous.”
