Melbourne, Aug 27 : The History Channel is planning to send its team of documentary makers Down Under to investigate the spate of UFO sightings.

The American documentary makers are being sent to shoot an episode of the cable television series ‘UFO Hunters’.

The show is filming its second season after its first series proved a huge success in the United States.

UFO Hunters host William J. Birnes and his team of researchers would be visiting Australia to shoot for the series.

According to the show''s website: "The team''s access to UFO evidence is unparalleled and their expertise allows them to quickly identify bogus claims of UFOs.

Melbourne, Aug 27 : Proponents of an Islamic school in south-western Sydney will appeal a local government rejection of the the proposal to build a 1,200-student school.

Camden Council voted unanimously in May to reject the proposal to build a 1,200-student school, after months of heated community meetings and the release of an adverse planner’s report, the Herald Sun reported.

The report cited traffic and environmental reasons for its decision.

The school’s backer, the Qu’uranic Society, will now appeal the council’s rejection.

That’s the conclusion of a new survey conducted by Virgin Mobile, which has found that one in three Aussies can''t help themselves and check their partner''s mobile phone when they''re in the shower or on the toilet.

But that curiosity has blown up in their faces with 73 per cent finding things they later wished they hadn''t.

Of those sneaky text checkers, 44 per cent stumbled upon messages that ranged from flirtatious to sexually explicit.

The survey, conducted among 18-29 year old mobile users by Galaxy Research, found women were also more likely than men to be SMS snoops.

Melbourne, Aug 26 : A school in Australia has banned all forms of gymnastics, which includes doing a cartwheel on the playground.

At Belgian Gardens State School, doing gymnastics like handstands and somersaults and even the humble forward roll has been given the flick.

Mum Kylie Buschgens was dumbfounded when her daughter Cali, 10, was told she could no longer do cartwheels, even on the grass.

"She came home from school a couple of times and said `I got in trouble for doing a cartwheel''," The Northern Territory quoted Buschgens, as saying.

"I thought she meant that it was wrong to do it on the concrete, but they made an announcement at assembly that gymnastics was banned,” Buschgens added.

Melbourne, Aug 25 : Australian baby boomers are the nation’s biggest spenders, according to a new survey.

Conducted by retail consultancy Directional Insights, the survey revealed that older people in Australia owned the most expensive homes, and spent more money than any other generation.

It revealed that typical baby boomers aged 40 to 59, and Gen Ys aged 15 to 24 were egocentric, optimistic and opinionated.

Baby boomers shopped fast and spent more than any other generation.
