Naveen Patnaik rules out supporting Congress, BJP government at CentreBhubaneswar, Apr 8 : Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today ruled out supporting Congress or BJP-led government at the Centre after the general elections.

Addressing an election meeting along with NCP chief Sharad Pawar and CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury, Patnaik said he was happy with the seat-sharing arrangement reached between the three parties for Lok Sabha polls in Orissa.

JSL to raise Rs 500 crore to fund its Orissa Steel Project

Jindal GroupO P Jindal Group, Jindal Stainless Limited (JSL), the India's largest and only integrated Stainless Steel manufacturer, has plans to raise Rs 500 crore through various possible routes to fund its upcoming Rs 5,700-crore stainless steel project in Orissa.

The board of directors of the company stated in a communiqué on Monday that it's considering issuance of securities on rights basis to raise funds.

The move has been planned due to shortfall in the liquidity, which further compelled the company to raise more funds for the Orissa plant.

"Clashes took place in the name of religion in Kandhamal and elsewhere as the non-Congress government in the state was responsible for the spread of disharmony and hatred," he said at an election meeting in this district.

Rahul also said that when the Congress was in power, Orissa was an isle of peace.

Padma Bhotra, a tribal woman, won several awards and recognition, including the best volunteer award from the United Nations.

She has founded a self-help group in Devla village of Nabrangpur district, in a bid to improve their living conditions in the years to come.

Pawar to address rallies with Patnaik in OrissaBhubaneswar, Apr 8: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar will address four poll meetings with Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday.

Pawar has not revealed any plans to include leaders of the Left parties in the meetings, with which ruling BJD has entered into a seat sharing arrangement.

Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPM) state secretary, Janardan Pati, informed that leaders of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the CPM are likely to take part in a joint press meet this evening.
