Taliban says MNA''s opposing sharia regulation will be considered infidelsPeshawar, Apr. 13:TheTehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) and the Swat chapter of Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP), have announced that those Members of the National Assembly (MNA) who oppose the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation bill in Parliament will be considered infidels.

TNSM spokesperson Izat Khan asserted that being Muslims is the right of the people of the Malakand division, and therefore, they also have the right to impose the sharia in their area and decide the matters according to the Quranic rulings.

Taliban rocket attack destroys ten NATO supply vehicles in PeshawarPeshawar, Apr. 12 : At least ten NATO supply trucks were destroyed on Sunday when some unidentified militants fired rockets at the NATO supply terminal located on the Ring Road here.

According to The News, several rockets were fired at the terminal, igniting a major fire which engulfed the supply laden vehicles.

Several fire tenders were pressed in to service to douse the fire. The fire fighters were struggling to overcome the flames till reports last came-in.

Six NATO oil tankers charred on Peshawar outskirtsPeshawar, Apr. 10: At least six oil tankers, used for supplying fuel to NATO troops in Afghanistan, were reportedly destroyed on Friday by suspected Taliban fighters in Chamkani region here.

According to The News, unidentified militants blasted an oil tanker loaded with highly inflammable fuels.

The blast triggered a massive blaze which engulfed six out the thirty-five tankers parked there.

The fire was brought under control by the Pakistan Air Force fire tenders after local fire fighters failed to contain the flames.

US drone kills four militants in South WaziristanPeshawar, Apr 8 : A US drone aircraft fired two missiles on a vehicle carrying militants in the Daza Ghundi area near South Waziristan on Wednesday, killing four people.

"The drone was flying very low and as soon as militants in a truck opened fired at it, a missile was fired that hit the vehicle," a foreign news agency quoted a resident, as saying.

Taliban intrudes Buner, 12 killed in clashesPeshawar, Apr. 8 : Around a dozen people have been killed in violent clashes between locals and Taliban militants, who invaded Gokand area of Buner District, authorities have confirmed.

The violence broke on Monday evening when locals constituted a Lashkar for defending their areas from intruding Taliban militants, The Nation reports.

Earlier, The Taliban militants shot dead three policemen, including an Assistant Sub Inspector and one civilian in the violent clashes. The policemen were assassinated after being abducted.

Taliban accepts ‘partial’ cable broadcast in Swat

PakistanPeshawar, Apr. 8 : Taliban has accepted the cable TV operators demand to allow a partial broadcast of cable TV in Swat on the condition that only local news channels and Islamic channels would be broadcast.

“We have been allowed to resume cable TV service by Taliban leaders with certain conditions,” the Daily Times quoted a cable operator from Mingora city.

Around 500,000 Mingora residents were denied access to information through news channels for eight months after the Taliban banned the service and bombed a local cable network.
