ChandigarhChandigarh, Sept 12 : Chandigarh is fast gaining recognition for embracing a modern lifestyle. The most apparent change is the way people spend their evenings at coffee bars or cafes sipping coffee.

The aroma of coffee beans has mesmerized everyone, especially the young and the upwardly mobile in Chandiagrh.

The coffee culture was introduced to India a decade back, and now has caught the fancy of Punjabis.

These clubs are a fascination for the village youth, as they have been equipped with multi-purpose health machines.

US ashamed over killing of Sikhs in hate crime in America: US EmbassyAmritsar, Sept 10 : Public Diplomacy Officers from US Embassy Lisa Swenarski said on Wednesday that US is ashamed over the killing of the Sikhs in America post September 11 due to hate crime.

“We feel great shame over the killing of the Sikhs in US post 9/11 due to hate crime,” said Swenarski while talking to media at Amritsar today.

A delegation of American embassy is currently on a visit to Amritsar under “America Day” program initiated by the US Embassy in New Delhi.

Pakistan Radio blames India for lack of progress on peace initiatives

The Pakistan Radio has also blamed India for constructing barbed wire fence along the border. The scriptwriter of the programme for the Radio has perhaps forgotten that the barbed wire fence has been in existence for over two decades. It was erected to prevent smuggling along the International border.
