12pc centenarians use Internet

London, July 31 : New research has shown that three per cent of 100-year olds have referred to an online encyclopaedia, and that four times that number use the Internet.

During the study, three in every hundred centenarians reported that they had done a little research using the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, while two in every hundred said that they had Googled someone.

The study also revealed that three per cent of the centenarians had had browsed the likes of Amazon to find a gift, while two per cent had used the internet to research a health topic.

Seven per cent reported being familiar with e-mail, and more than half of them even said that they had either sent or received digital photos.

Brit parents ‘lack skills to bring up children’

London, July 31 : British parents today are not aware that their parenting skills are sorely lacking, leading academics have warned.

Therefore, the Government is palming off the responsibility to schools.

Philip Parkin, general secretary of Voice, the union for education professionals said there has been a “downward spiral” in the quality of parenting and a disintegration of moral boundaries that would affect generations of children.

London, July 31 : A resort on the Usedom beach on the German-Polish border has sparked fighting between the residents of the two sides, after the removal of a fence separating them.

While Germans want to keep their clothes off on the beach, Polish sun-lovers prefer to cover up and keep their modesty.

A website report says that the liberal German''''s are outraged by their Polish neighbour''''s and their conservative ways.

The report even says that they have decided to hang on to their freedom by simply refusing to cover up their body.

"It''''s a nudist beach. It''''s terrible, that the Poles come over dressed and stare," the Daily Star quoted 44-year-old naked beach-goer Elke Bernholz as saying.
