Washington, April 28 : Farrah Fawcett's son Redmond O''Neal was temporarily released from prison so that he could see his cancer-battling mother under a visit monitored by the sheriff''s office.

Redmond, who has been serving his sentence for a violation of his parole stemming from drug charges, had been released for three hours over the weekend.

"A sergeant and a deputy drove him to his mother''s home [Saturday] and he''s now back in custody," People magazine quoted L. A. County Sheriff''s spokesman Steve Whitmore as saying.

Washington, Apr 28 : US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen is frustrated particularly by the Pakistani political leadership's inability to confront the extremist threat, and remains "very alarmed by the growing Taliban threat in the country," his spokesman has said.

Mullen has made two visits to Pakistan in less than three weeks and is "deeply alarmed by what he has found," his spokesman, Captain John Kirby told CNN.

The "full-figured" stunner, who recently claimed that she's a size 2, debuted the newer, lighter look while walking around New York.

She then posted photos of herself proclaiming that she loved her "new blonde hair."

However, Kardashian later admitted that the look was simply a wig.

Washington - The White House issued an apology Monday after a presidential plane flying low over New York for a photo shoot left people on the ground panicking over worries a terrorist attack was underway. The massive Boeing 747, shadowed by an F-16 fighter jet, was passing over the Hudson River at times at altitudes lower than some buildings in downtown Manhattan. Hundreds of people rushed out of their offices and onto the street, fearing another September 11, 2001-style attack.

Washington - Police arrested five members of the US Congress on Monday during a protest outside the Sudanese embassy against the conflict in Darfur. Democratic representatives Jim McGovern, John Lewis, Donna Edwards, Keith Ellison and Lynn Woolsey were taken into custody for crossing into an area cordoned off by police, Chris Shields, a spokesman for Woolsey, said.

Police warned the lawmakers several times to not cross the yellow-taped line outside the embassy , Shields said. They were charged with misdemeanor trespassing after surrendering peacefully to the police, he said.
