RIL ranked as the World’s 126th most powerful company

Mukesh-Ambani-Reliance-IndustriesMukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries (RIL) remained the top Indian company in the recently released Forbes Global 2000 list. RIL was placed at 126 in the list of the world's 2000 biggest and most powerful companies published by Forbes.

While as many as 56 Indian companies managed to find a place in the list, not a single company found a place within the top 100.

Among other Indian companies placed in the list, the country's largest bank, State Bank of India, followed RIL at 130th spot. Other Indian majors which found a place within the top 500 were Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (155), ICICI Bank (282), Indian Oil (313), National Thermal Power Corporation (341), Tata Steel (345), and Bharti Airtel (471).

Among the global giants, US banking giant JPMorgan Chase emerged as the numero uno in the world, it was followed by General Electric and Bank of America at the second and the third spot respectively.

The list, which included companies from 62 countries across the globe, witnessed a maximum of 515 entries from the United States followed by 210 companies from Japan.
