Ruchika's Friend Unveils Website On ‘Child Abuse’  The only eyewitness in the Ruchika Girhotra harassment case, Aradhna, who is fighting a gritty battle to get justice for her friend, unveiled an Internet site to fight maltreatment.

The website named justice4ruchika.com directs at aiding the concerned from any part of the world.

Aradhna said, “Problem of child abuse has haunted our society for a long time. So far our government has not done anything substantial to control this evil. Therefore, it is our initiative to garner public support and to provide a platform for like-minded people to collectively fight this menace.”

She also said that she got motivated to start this website while fighting her best friend's case.

"People from all across the country can approach us if they need our guidance and help. The idea is to create awareness about our laws and social rights. We have already got some cases of molestation from various parts of the country and one case is even from abroad," Aradhna said.

She said that they will jointly create a chain of nongovernmental organizations and will offer their helpline numbers where any person can contact them.

She added that legal experts will be there to help and they will surely work on a global level.

15-year-old Ruchika was harassed by former Haryana police chief S.P.S. Rathore in Panchkula in August 1990. She attempted suicide three years later.

CBI special court had held Rathore responsible and sent him to six months' rigorous custody in December 2009.

But, he was given bail directly after his conviction. (With Input from Agencies)
