Indian ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal has stormed in to the quarterfinal of the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament after defeating Intanon Ratchanok of Thailand on Thursday.

Saina, seeded second has defeated Intanon by 18-21, 21-12, 21-18 in the second round of the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament.

Saina looked off color in the first set as she lost first set of the match by 18-21 but in the second set Saina completely outplayed Intanon to win the set by 21-12.

Saina continued her good show in the third set to win the set and the match which lasted for 46-minute and moved to the next round.

Saina will now play against Chinese qualifier Xin Wang in the quarter-final of the Malaysian Open Grand Prix Gold badminton tournament on Saturday.

Xin has defeated sixth seeded Japanese Ai Goto by 21-14, 21-14 in the pre-quarterfinal to advance in to quarterfinal.
