Salman Khan joins Modi in International Kite FestivalAhmedabad, Jan 14, : Promoting his upcoming film, Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Tuesday joined Gujarat Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at the ongoing International Kite Festival .

Salman Khan, who was promoting his film 'Jai Ho' in Ahmedabad, said, "In this festival, the whole sky is filled up with kites.  I can also witness this colorful environment and people are also very happy."

On being asked whether he would endorse Modi as the prime minister of the country, Khan said, "I think, God should decide the best man for the country and for all of us.  And the best man should be the Prime Minister of India."

"The good man (referring to Modi) is standing with me here.  I have seen so much development here," Salman Khan added.

"Whatever is written in Modi's life, he should definitely get that.  He should be able to fulfill his destiny," Khan said.

The three day annual festival which was inaugurated by Modi on Sunday aims at boosting tourism in Gujarat, as kite flyers, from India and abroad, takes part with great enthusiasm.

The kite-flying festival, which marks the start of spring, involved aerial duels in which participants tried to bring down each other's kites using string coated in a sticky paste of ground-up glass or metal.

The festival coincides with the completion of Uttarayan and commencement of Dakshinayan, the largest kite festival during which the entire city takes to the rooftops, and has become a favourite destination for hundreds of kite fliers from across the world.

Kite fliers from eleven countries, including Ukraine, Switzerland, Indonesia, Belgium, UK, Lebanon, Lithunia, Italy, South Korea, and Turkistan participated in the festival. (ANI)
