Samsung targeting 50% growth in market share for refrigerators and ACsThe Indian unit of South Korean electronics giant, Samsung has said that it is targeting an increase of 50 per cent in market share in the country's refrigerators and AC market.

Samsung India said that it is aiming to increase its market share by 50 per cent as it launched its first digital inverter-frost free refrigerators in the country. Samsung India Home-Appliance Business Head, Rajeev Bhutani said after launching the new refrigerators and air conditioners that the company is offering a 10 year warranty with the refrigerators, which is a first in the country for the product.

He said that the company has launched three inverter models in the country and added that Samsung India is aiming to increase sales of split ACs in the country by about 50 per cent. Samsung is aiming to boost market share with the help of higher sales for premium products for growth this year.

The company claims that it holds 15 per cent market share in air-conditioners, 33.6 per cent in frost-free refrigerators and 24 per cent in refrigerators. It is now aiming at 50 per cent increase in both value and volume terms in refrigerator and air conditioners market in the country.
