Samsung unveils its 3.5G smartphone Galaxy i7500; announces to launch its “Samsung Jet” in IndiaSlenderer and svelter than iPhone 3G of Apple and Magic of HTC, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy i7500 smartphone was recently unveiled by Samsung Electronics, at the CommunicAsia exhibition in Singapore on Tuesday.

Samsung Galaxy i7500 is Android based is 3.5G smartphone; the phone runs Google’s Android Operating System. Galaxy i7500 features a 3.2-inch AMOLED (Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode) screen – a scratch-resistant touchscreen made of tempered glass, a 5-megapixel camera with power LED, with video recording capability, and virtual QWERTY keyboard.

With no physical QWERTY keyboard, and with an AMOLED display requiring no backlight, Galaxy i7500 is ultra thin phone. With 115 mm X 56 mm X 11.9 mm (millimeters) of measurement, Galaxy i7500 is thinner than Magic of HTC. It is slimly smaller and slenderer that Apple’s iPhone 3G measuring 115 mm X 62.1 mm X 12.3 mm.

Galaxy i7500 is can access the Android Market, and several Google services, such as Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Calendar, and Google Talk. With GPS support, the phone enables Google Maps featuring My Location, Google Latitude, and Street View.

Galaxy i7500 supports MP3, AAC (Advanced Audio Coding), WMA (Windows Media Audio) audio, and H.264 video. The phone features a standard 3.5mm headphone jack

Galaxy i7500 offers quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA at 7.2Mbps. The phone offers support for Wi-Fi and and WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access). Working with WCDMA 3G networks, Galaxy i7500 supports data transfer speeds up to 7.2M bps on the networks upgraded with HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access).

Samsung declared that Galaxy i7500 will be released in the European markets by the end of this month. The phone will be exclusively available in Germany from O2. In July, the phone will be available through bouygues telecom in France, where the phone has been labeled as Samsung Galaxy. The phone will be released other markets of the world during the second half of this year. The phone expected to be available through T-Mobile in the United States. However, Samsung hasn’t yet announced the price and launch date of the phone.

Samsung also announced that it will roll out its high-end fully touchscreen smartphone – Samsung Jet – in the Indian market by the end of this month. Samsung Jet, boasting of a 3.1 inch screen, a 5 mega pixel camera with video recording capability, built-in GPS, and a slew of multimedia features, will be priced at Rs 24,150 in India.
