Sanjay Dutt and Sharman Joshi Join in the Breast Cancer Awareness CauseAfter the global concern expressed through various rallies and awareness drives for the breast cancer among females, Bollywood became the next one to raise an alarm among the females regarding the cause and the preventions for the dreadful disease.

The Lavasa Women's Drive 2010’ organized on Saturday March 7, which was attended by several Bollywood stars at Bandra Reclamation Grounds.  The trophies for the winners were presented by actor Sanjay Dutt and Sharman Joshi along with Producer Rakesh Roshan.

Sanjay Dutt, while addressing the reporters said that he had a sympathetic bent towards the cancer patients because his mother, Nargis a veteran actress, also died of cancer. He also said that in country like India, because of the social environment, it is not an easy job for a female to go to a doctor and share problems like breast cancer.

He also added that it was very important for women across the country to be aware of the disease as early detections have a scope of treatment. Dutt has been showing up at many awareness events that fund breast cancer patients.
Sharman Joshi also suggested that females should visit doctors even at slightest hint of cancer.

The winners were awarded with 600,000 rupees that will be donated to Woman's Cancer Initiative. It is known that in India, annually, 200,000 new cases are detected resulting in 47,000 deaths.
