Shiv Sainiks protest against Pakistan team’s presence in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 22 : Shiv Sena activists staged a protest here today against the Pakistani team, even as cricket fans thronged Firoz Shah Kotla stadium to witness the first day of the first India-Pakistan Test match.

The Shiv Sena protestors alleged that there has been no improvement in India-Pakistan relations.

"Our governments repeatedly talk of playing cricket with Pakistan to improve the relations between the two countries,” said Shiv Sena leader Jai Bhagwan Das, adding that “There has been no improvement in the relations.”

He also alleged about Pakistanis nursing hatred against Indians.

Meanwhile, cricket enthusiasts thronged Firoz Shah Kotla stadium looking forward to some good action on the field.

"I wish Indian players play well and win the match," said Sachin, a cricket enthusiast.

Security has been beefed up with policemen and security personnel posted at various entry points around the stadium to avoid any untoward incident.

India, having won the One Day International (ODI) series by 3-2, is buoyant with the recent success against Pakistan.

Indian and Paksitani teams have toured each other's country annually since 2004 when India went on a tour of Pakistan after 14-years. (ANI)
