Siemens pockets `three-digit-million-Euro` order from SAIL

Austria-based, Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has announced that the company has received a ‘three-digit-million-Euro’ order from Steel Authority of India (SAIL) to supply turnkey process technology to the steel major’s new cold rolling mill at the Bokaro Steel Plant.

The cold rolling mill will have a capacity of around 1.3 million metric tons per year and is scheduled to take up production in 2010.

Under the contract, Siemens will be responsible for design, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the core lines of the new cold mill plant, which includes a coupled tandem picking line, a hot-dip galvanising line and an electrolytic strip cleaning line.

The contract also covers installation, supervision, commissioning and intensive customer training.
