Sixth ‘American Pie’ sequel going direct to DVD on Dec 26, 2007

American PieSept 20 : Universal Studio’s sixth ‘America Pie’ movie will be releasing directly on DVD on Dec 26, 2007.

The Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Rogue Pictures movie is currently being filmed in Toronto, and stars Steve Talley, John White, Jake Siegel and Eugene Levy.

The Andrew Waller-directed pic includes deleted scenes and bloopers, behind-the-scenes interviews and loads of behind-the-scenes secrets.

Craig Kornblau, President of Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Universal Pictures Digital Platforms, said that the movie continues the ‘American Pie’ legacy, and is filled with a ‘freshness and audacity’ sure to appeal to old and new fans alike.

“American Pie Presents: Beta House continues the legacy with a freshness and audacity that will have both faithful fans and new audiences in stitches with its groundbreaking humor,” Moviehole.net quoted him, as saying.

"The American Pie franchise has enjoyed unprecedented success for almost a decade and has become a mainstay of our Universal DVD Originals initiative,” he added.

"Beta House" reunites most of previous ‘American Pie’ movie ‘The Naked Mile’ cast and places them in the college setting, working to defend Dwight Stifler's (Steve Talley) Beta Fraternity against rival frat GEKs. While defending the house, Erik Stifler's (John White) new love, Ashley (Meghan Heffern), feels that the fraternity is nothing but trouble.

Previous Universal DVD Original releases “American Pie Presents: Band Camp’’ and ‘’American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile’’ remain two of the top five best-selling live-action, non-family, made-for-DVD releases of all time. (With inputs from ANI)
