SpaceX will introduce Mars Spacecraft This Year and launch Crewed Mission within a Decade, says Elon Musk

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has already revealed the aerospace company’s plan to take astronauts to Mars by 2025, but the spacecraft that would be used for the mission is still not unveiled. Now, Musk has announced that the Mars mission spacecraft will be revealed later this year.

While talking to people at an event in Hong Kong, the business magnate said that he planned to unveil plans and architecture of the Mars spacecraft in late September during the International Astronautical Conference in Mexico. Undoubtedly, Mars mission is going to be very exciting, and SpaceX’s first flight to the planet could be within a decade, Musk said.

Musk also said that crewed flight to the Red Planet is a part of the company’s mission to set a human colony on the planet. Setting a city on Mars is not just an effort to save human race in far future, but it will be an incredible adventure for mankind, according to Musk.

Deep space missions, like Mars mission, are a part of a fundamental decision necessary for humans. These will decide what kind of future mankind will have, Musk continued. “Do we want one where we are forever confined to one planet until some eventual extinction event however far into the future that might occur or do we want to be a multi planet species and ultimately be out there among the stars, among many planets”, he said.

About human colony on Mars, Musk said it was about the only planet, other than earth, he and SpaceX could envision establishing a human presence. The Red Planet is the next natural step. It the only planet in the solar system humanity has to establish a self-sustaining city on.
