Speciality Restaurants to go international in next 6 months
Speciality Restaurants Ltd (SRL), the only listed fine dining restraint in India, has announced its plans to go international in the next six months.
SRL has confirmed that it is making a serious attempt to become a licensed partner of an international quick service restaurant (QSR) chain, and that talks are going on with an American regional brand.
Anjan Chatterjee, managing director SRL, said that the company would open joint-venture restaurants in Singapore, London and Gulf region. In the Gulf region, the company has plans to open nearly eight restaurants.
Speaking on the topic, Chatterjee added, “We are also close to signing a seven-restaurant deal for our brands Mainland China and Global Grill in places like Dubai Mall Burjuman Mall.”
Big names like KFC, McDonald and Domino's are already present in the quick service restaurant market, but according to Chatterjee there is further potential to enhance this area of the market.
In addition, the company has plans to foray into outdoor catering under the Mobifeast brand. Outdoor catering business has gained a considerable popularity over the past few years, thanks to higher demand from nuclear families and corporate sector.
SRL expects to close current financial year with a turnover of nearly Rs 250 crore and aims to reach an annual turnover of around Rs 500 crore by March 2015.
