SpiceJet to introduce Kolkata-Agartala flight soonThe low-fare private airline firm, Spicejet has announced that the airline is going to introduce the Kolkata-Agartala flight next month. This has been a part of company’s plans to expand its presence in the north east of the country. This has been announced by the Chief Commercial Officer of the company Mr. Samyukth Sridharan. The airline has just over 12% of the market share in the Indian aviation industry.

Earlier it was connected with Guwahati only in the northeast part of India. But now it has been extended to Tripura’s capital Agartala. There will be daily flights from Kolkata to Guwahati also from May this year, as per Sridharan.

Agartala is going to be 19th destination in SpiceJet's route network, which means SpiceJet will be operating 131 flights daily to 19 cities across India. According to the COO, the airline is committed to provide high quality services with greatest consumer value.

Spicejet commenced operations in 2005 in the country. The company has transformed itself to one of the leading aviation firms in India providing lower air fares for its customers. The company has also planned to introduce international flights from Kolkata to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal by June.
