While there has been already a delay in implementing the BSIII norms for two-wheeler in the 13 major cities, Hero Honda, the market leader in the Indian two-wheeler industry has recently launched its BSIII compliant version of the top-selling Splendor+ in the Indian market.

It may be noted here that after the launch, the company will now be able to continue its sales of Splendor+ in the 13 major Indian cities. But now the product will be sold at a higher price tag in the market.

A spokesperson at Hero Honda Motor India said that the company has started the production of the BSIII even before the final notification of BSIII norms implementation came.

Moreover, the spokesperson also highlighted the fact that the company will now be able to continue its sales in the 13 major Indian cities with the launch of the BSIII compliant Splendor+.

While the brand stands at close to 25 per cent of its total annual sales, Splendor+ also contributes close to 13% of the total sales of the industry. The company, however, refused to give the revised prices but said that it will be expensive by close to Rs. 500-1000 to the Indian consumer.
