Sukhbir Singh Badal For Equal distribution of central funds

Sukhbir-Singh-BadalSukhbir Singh Badal, the Deputy Chief Minister Punjab said on the closing ceremony of rural games on Sunday that centre should develop a progressive formula for equitable distribution of the state’s share in Central taxes.

He said that Punjab has saved the nation two times in 1965 and 1971 from Pakistan’s attack but instead of appreciating Punjab for its contribution, the Union government was squeezing the revenue of Punjab by giving it a meager 1.29 per cent.

He also mentioned that completing four-laning and six-laning of the national and state highways at the cost Rs 6,669 crore and completing the remaining work on 28 ROBs/RUBs at a cost of Rs 309 crore was the main concern for the state.

Badal was very happy with the upcoming sports infrastructure for the state and said that by August 15, thirteen world class floodlit stadiums with international sports infrastructure will be completed. Out of these 13 stadiums, 6 have Astroturf for hockey players.

He also announced that by March 31, Bathinda Refinery Project will become operational. The project was build with a budget of Rs 20,000 crore.

Further he announced the date of kabaddi world cup which will be held in November. Winner will be rewarded with Rs 2 crore and runner up will get Rs 1 crore.
