Tata Motors To Roll Out New "Magic Iris" Passenger Carrier In SeptemberTata Motors is ready to roll out four new variants of its popular light commercial vehicle (LCV), 'Ace'.

First of them will be the company's passenger transportation vehicle 'Magic Iris', which is presently going through test marketing and is ready for a September launch.

Built on the Ace platform, the Magic Iris, which was unveiled by the company at the January Delhi Auto Expo, will have a car-like rear cabin to seat three passengers.

The fourth passenger's seat will be next to the driver's seat. The passenger carrier will be followed by a goods carrier version.

The company will also introduce two Ace variants later in 2010, with a lower and a heavier payload later in the year.

The vehicles will be fabricated at the company's Pantnagar, Uttrakhand facility, which has a capacity of 2,50,000 vehicles.

Tata Motors also exports 1,000 Aces on a monthly basis to neighboring nations such as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

It is also ready to unveil a company certified pre-owned vehicle business for the Ace fleet. The Ace, launched in 2005, has sold more than 5,00,000 units in the LCV market. It registered sales growth of 30 per cent in FY10 and is experiencing a 26 per cent growth in the ongoing FY11.

The company's 4,000 unit capacity plant in South Africa is also expected to be operational by 2010 end. The plant will manufacture trucks and buses for the South African and Middle East markets. (With Inputs from Agencies)
