Intel Ships High-Performance SSDs

Intel Ships High-Performance SSDsLeading computer chip manufacturer, Intel rolled out high performing solid state disk (SSD) drive, X-25. It maintains less capacity but provides good data throughput. It is based on single-level cell (SLC) NAND flash technology. It can offer up to 250 MB/s sequential read speeds and up to 170 MB/s sequential write speeds.

It is specially fabricated to provide 75 microseconds read latency and 4 KB random read in addition to 4KB random write. It consumes 60 per cent less power as compared to speedy enterprise-class 2.5” hard drives.

'Atom' Processor launched by Intel

With the aim to boost development of local platforms based in Intel architecture, Intel, the leading chipmaker, today unveiled the provision of Atom processors and reference designs in India, keeping in mind the mushrooming market for handheld devices in the nation.

Atom processor N270 is really small equal to the size of a 25 paisa coin and has been applied in 45 nanometer technology. It is power optimized, which is capable of delivering excellent performance with minimum usage of power, that is below 3 watts. According to R Ravichandran, Director (Sales), Intel South Asia, “The single core processor is validated with Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset.”
