Three-Year-Old Baby Falls In Borewell; Army Tries RescueIndian Army officials are making attempts to save three year old Dilnaz Kaur, who fell into a 200 feet deep borewell near Batala town in Punjab's Gurdaspur region on Wednesday.

The reports said that the baby accidentally fell into the borewell when se was playing in the courtyard of her maternal uncle’s house.

The police officials said that the baby had got stuck around 30 feet deep into the borewell, but the definite position was unclear as no clear view of the kid is available.

A police officer, who was present on the spot said, “Indian Army officials from Tibri cantonment in Gurdaspur district have reached the village and started the rescue operation.”

“All precautionary measures are being taken while conducting the operation. A medical team has also been called. The child had skidded 29 feet down and so far army officials have dug out land
up to 25 feet. It could take another two hours before we finally bring the child out,” the official added.

Indian Army officials reached the spot at around 2 p.m. on Wednesday and are being helped by the local police in this rescue operation.

Dilnaz's mother Manpreet Kaur was terribly upset.

In the meantime, residents of the village and its neighboring villages are praying for the baby and hoping for a miracle. (With Inputs from Agencies)
