Tony Blair on a mission to unite religions of the world

Tony Blair on a mission to unite religions of the worldLondon, May 30 : Former British premier Tony Blair has said that he wants to spend the rest of his life bringing religions of the world together.

On the eve of the launch of his “faith foundation”, Blair said that faith had given him the courage to make unpopular decisions he knew were right during his 10 years in office.

In an interview with Time magazine, the former British Prime Minister said faith could be “a civilising force in globalisation”, bringing different peoples together to solve the world’s problems.

The foundation – to be unveiled in New York on Friday – will try to tackle global problems like poverty and malaria, The Sun reported.

“If you got churches and mosques and those of the Jewish faith working together to provide the bed nets necessary to eliminate malaria, what a fantastic thing that would be,” Blair said.

Blair, 55, who recently became a Catholic like wife Cherie, revealed that he came up with his faith foundation plan while still in office. (ANI)
