Toyota Kirloskar crosses 1 million sales mark

ToyotaToyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. on Thursday crossed the mark of 1 million sales in India, the car maker said in a statement.

The automobile giant recorded its 1 millionth vehicle sale in the country through its Cochin-based authorised dealer Nippon Toyota. The millionth vehicle sold by the company was a Toyota Etios, which was handed over to a customer during a ceremony yesterday.

N Raja, Senior Vice President of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, "The sale of Toyota's 1 millionth car in India marks a very important milestone for us. Since its inception, Toyota has been present in the MPV/SUV segment in India and we have been market leaders ever since in these segments.

Mr. Raja added that the company managed to cross the milestone in a short duration. The company had entered the country's mass segment with the Etios and Liva in 2011.

He thanked the company's customers, dealers, suppliers and employees for enabling the company to cross the milestone; and assured that the company would keep on focusing on efforts to bring Toyota's globally acclaimed QDR products to the Indian market.

To celebrate the newly hit milestone, the company has announced a special scheme for March 2014 through which customers avail various exciting offers. They can either avail benefits of up to Rs 40,000 or choose from attractive Finance Schemes ay low rates of interest through the company's finance arm Toyota Financial Services Ltd.
