Two mass graves located in Dutch camp in Srebrenica

Sarajevo  - Fourteen years after the Srebrenica massacre, Dutch soldiers have discovered two mass graves on the premises of their former base, Bosnian media reported Friday.

According to Bosnian media reports, Dutch soldiers buried at least six civilians and two newborns within their base. The civilians buried there died from natural causes or had committed suicide.

The information on the existence of the graves was provided to the Association of Srebrenica victims by the members of Dutch battalion earlier in July, reports said.

After the Bosnian Serbs took over Srebrenica, thousands of civilians, mainly women, elderly and children sought refugee in the UN camp.

On July 11, 1995 Srebrenica was taken over and Dutch soldiers in the camp allowed Serbian forces to remove all men from the camp.

In the aftermath, some 8,000 Muslim men were murdered and more than 30,000 children, old men and women were forced to leave their homes.

The UN war crimes tribunal in the Hague indicted Bosnian Serb war leaders Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic for Srebrenica massacre. Karadzic was arrested and delivered to the Hague a year ago, while Mladic is still on the run. (dpa)
