Udaan, Dabangg Ruled The 56th Filmfare; SRK, Kajol Best Actor & Actress

SRK & KajolThe leading couple of My Name Is Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol won accolades at the 56th Filmfare Awards and took home awards under the categories of Best Actor Male and Female respectively.

Though, the critically praised Udaan bagged the Filmfare awards, taking home 7 awards accompanied by Dabangg pocketing 6 black ladies.

Udaan got the award for Best Film (critics), and Arbaaz Khan won the best film award for Sallu-Sonakshi starrer Dabangg.

Karan Johar bagged the Best Director award for his mega-hit flick My Name is Khan.

Other awards for Udaan comprise the Cinematography, Best Story, Best Supporting Actor (Male), Best Background Music, Screenplay and Best Sound Design Award.

The award for Best Debut (Female) went to Sonakshi Sinha for her outstanding role in Dabangg while Ranveer Singh bagged the award for Best Debut (Male) for Band Baaja Baraat. Ranveer.

Prabodh Chandra Dey aka 'Manna Dey' pocketed the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award during the ceremonial occasion.

The Best Lyricist award went to Gulzar for his superb composition 'Ibn-e-Batuta' in Ishiqya.

Sajid Wajid took home the best music composer award for Dabangg.

Farah Khan was declared as the best choreographer for 'Sheila Ki Jawani' (Tees Maar Khan).

Amit Trivedi bagged the honor for best background score for Udaan.

Kareena Kapoor got the best supporting actress award for 'We are Family', whereas her uncle Rishi Kapoor received the best actor critics award for his performance in Do Dooni Char.

Big B was honored with a special award for finishing forty years in Bollywood, and Madhuri Dixit Nene got a special award for her silver jubilee in the Hindi film industry.
