Uday Shankar Moves From MCCS To STAR India As COO

Star IndiaThe CEO of Media Content and Communications Services (MCCS) has been chosen as the COO of STAR India. MCCS is a 74:26 percent venture between Ananda Bazaar Patrika and STAR Group.
The declaration was made in a combined report by Star and MCCS. Mr. Shankar will shortly join Star India and keep an eye on the company’s overall functioning.
He will report to Paul Aiello, the chief executive officer of STAR Group.
Mr. Shankar joined MCCS in February 2004, which maneuvers popular Hindi news channel Star News and leading Bengali news channel Star Ananda. It is also working on the instigation of a third channel in Marathi. Before MCCS, Shankar was the editor and news director at Aaj Tak. He was also involved in establishing India Today Group’s television ventures Aaj Tak and Headlines Today. He also led the beginning of Sahara’s news section, Sahara Samay.
Mr. Aiello stated that Shankar’s thorough knowledge and skill in this business makes him the ideal fit for this position.
