UK trade mission visits Turkey to attract investments, increase exportsA British trade delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is visiting Turkey for attracting investments from the country and promoting exports to Turkey from the UK.

Mr. Clegg is aiming to secure deals worth £500 million and. He began the trip with the announcement of a series of agreements signed with the Turkish companies that are aimed at boosting the economic growth in the UK and helping in recovery.

"It's fantastic to be announcing new jobs for the UK and such an impressive set of deals for British businesses. Turkey is Europe's seventh largest economy and is one of the world's largest markets. My main aim this week is to ensure that more UK firms can capitalise on the economic opportunities Turkey offers," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister announced plans by Turkish company HDM Steel Pipe to invest £7 million to open a factory in Cardiff and creating 38 jobs. He also announced an contract worth £5 million between Wolverhampton's Concept Steels and an Turkish importer for the export of alloys, metals and components for the oil, gas and chemical industries from the UK.

The Istanbul-based hospital group Florence Nightingale is planning to set up its European headquarters in London with an investment of £100,000, creating eight jobs.

Mr Clegg will also visit cities of Ankara and Istanbul accompanied by Business Minister Michael Fallon and 18 top executives.
