UN condemns attack that killed over 90 people in Pakistan
New York - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned "in the strongest terms" on Wednesday the bomb attack that killed at least 93 people in Peshawar, Pakistan.
"I condemn, in the strongest possible terms, today's bomb attack at a market in Peshawar," Ban said in a statement.
"No cause can justify such inhuman and indiscriminate violence. I wish to extend my sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the Government of Pakistan, and wish those injured a full recovery."
Pakistani authorities said 93 people were killed while more than 200 others were injured by the bomb attack in a market in the Peepal Mandi area of Peshawar, the capital of the restive North- West Frontier Province.
The attack came as US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton visited the country and assured full support in the fight against terrorism.(dpa)
